Bitrate
Represents the number of bits per second that can be processed. Highly compressed video and audio files typically have a bit rate in kilobits per second. Other videos compressed with other codecs can play at megabits per second due to the higher quality of the content. Newer codecs such as H.264 are more advanced and efficient and can handle lower bit rates.
