The only time you should keep the Battery Disconnect Switch in the “batteries off” position is when you are storing and not using your RV. How does the shore power converter work on a camper?
Put another way, the 12-volt converter takes the 120-volt shore power, converts it to 12 volts, and then supplies DC power to everything in the camper irrespective of the battery disconnect switch.
