Apparently the body manufacturer left the transmissions w/ plg uncovered exposed to the elements before installing them in the bus. There was also a recall on the nss switch, check the color of the switch, I believe it should be light brown.

Why do my Allison auto lights not come on in reverse?
I had the dealer look at our 2012 model M2 with Allison auto because the lights wouldn’t come on in reverse. Turns out, that if the truck is NOT RUNNING, with key on, the lights come on for only 10 or 15 seconds (not quite long enough for you to walk to the back of the truck) and then the BCM (body computer module) will turn them off.
