Are sat navs supposed to be plugged into the cigarette lighter socket whilst in use? I’ve researched online, and some people say they are supposed to be plugged in when in use, so I’m confused at the moment. Also are there any advantages/disadvantages to having it plugged in all the time (whilst in use)?

Where does the cigarette lighter go in a car?
Are you sure it doesn’t have a socket. A lot of newer cars don’t actually have a fag lighter but they’ve still got the socket it goes in. It’ll probably be under a little flap that says 12v on it. Or in some cars the lighter is hidden in a fold out ashtray.
