Yeah a stock 454 won’t kill a stock 700r4 unless you’re planning on towing with it or hot rodding the 454 some day. Once you upgrade something though you’ll have a hard time with the weak parts like planetary, power band, output shaft. All of those should be upgraded if towing or building the engine are in your future.
