Why are my lights working but not sockets?
The circuit breaker and/or the RCD may have tripped (turned off) due to a faulty appliance that has been plugged into a socket. If you are not sure which appliance has caused the problem, you can do one more thing: unplug all appliances, reset the circuit breaker and/or RCD by switching back on.

Can a hard wired light fixture be plug in?
I opened up the outdoor lantern fixture and removed the metal brackets that you use to attach the light fixture up to the wall after you hard-wire it into the electrical box (in normal applications – obviously it will not be used that way in this application).
