What should I do if my slide out motor fails?
You should have an owner’s manual showing how to manual over ride the system if it fails. If not, contact Dutchmen to get a copy. Then listen as you run the slide room in and out and you should be able to hear where the motor is located. We’d love to have you be a part of our community.
Is it OK to operate drivers side slide?
My owner`s manual states that you should NOT operate the slides until the motor home is level to avoid binding and other damage to the slides. Also, I found out the hard way that the drivers side slide has a motor control board that is riveted upside down in the motor compartment.
What to do when slide outs don’t move?
Make sure the house batteries are charged completely, or if at all possible, plug your RV into shore power. This will indicate whether the problem may be the batteries or not. If you push the button for the slide outs and can hear the motor running but the slides don’t move, check the motor’s shear pins.

Where are the relays on a Fleetwood motorhome?
There are three large relays located in the box. All three have four electrical connection posts: two large posts that carry the battery current; two small posts that are used to operate the relay (s).
How to disconnect battery on Fleetwood motorhome?
I did a “field service” to the relay by connecting some “plumbers tape” (metal strap that plumbers use to hang pipes under a house) across the two large posts of the relay (thus defeating the battery disconnect function) until I could get a replacement.
