Injuries could be caused by clothing being caught up in the gear assembly. So, this is a short “to do” list do before you start retracting the slideout: Check your driver’s seat. Make sure it is not on the way of your slideout. Just put your seat in the upright position, pull it in and you are good to go. Check your cabinets.

What can be done to verify the motor is bad is hook up 12 volts directly to the motor and see if the room moves in and out. This can be done by cutting the wires at the motor and getting some jumper wires hooked to a good 12 volt battery such as a car battery or the house battery in the coach.

Why does my slide not retract after new motor?
After the new motor was installed, the slide still would not retract. The “square rods” connected to the motor were detached to assure the new motor was functioning. We found that power to the motor existed only when the “out” part of the slide’s in/out button was pushed. There was no power to the motor when the “in” side of the button was pushed.
Is it possible to push a slide out in by hand?
The actuator on my slide out is stripped. Is it possible to push the slide out in by hand temporarily? If it is a through frame slide out, you can remove the actuator arm from the motor and the mount on the slide out. Once the actuator arm is removed, the room can be slid in with the help of some other people.
